The Chamber of Mysteries opens its newly refurbished attraction once again for visitors. Those who have already ventured for this experience, during the previous season, last year, were promised a night of mystery, illusion and fun and this was delivered with great success.

Now for its second run, everything has been enhanced with a full refurbishment of the attraction, which is held in a secret chamber at Razzett L-Antik in Qormi. The chamber itself which has been transformed into a comfortable intimate 30 seat tiered theater, with excellent views from every seat sets the ambient for an exclusive night not found elsewhere in Malta.

The show, now exclusively presented by illusionist Brian Role' together with Lourdes Palmer, includes some of their most special acts together with other rarely seen items exclusively reserved for the secret chamber, making this experience one of a kind. But the Chamber of Mysteries is no ordinary magic/illusion show, instead it is a mixture of close up magic, spectacular illusion, mind reading and other things that defy explanation, things that could easily be classified as paranormal. All of this is blended in with humor, mystery and lots of audience participation.

The venue which houses this extraordinary live attraction, is actually an authentic 18th century farmhouse, transformed into one of Malta's best restaurants, specialising in typical Maltese cuisine by some of the best chefs on the island. It is built around a courtyard with several dining and banquet rooms, some of which are reserved for exclusive use, and also has its own wartime underground shelter and wine cellar. Before the show commences, visitors will be treated to a sumptuous three course meal, consisting of a starter, main course and followed by typical Maltese deserts all freshly prepared and cooked by the resident chef at Razzett L-Antik. Flowing wine (or soft drinks)throughout the meal completes a great dining experience. After the meal, visitors will be led to the secret chamber, where there, they will witness wonders that come alive right before their eyes.

First of all best wishes for 2012, looks like it is going to be a great year and we will be there to bring magic and illusion into your lives!

Let us take a look back at 2011 and have a look at the main things that we achieved during the past year.

January - April 2011

Ongoing performances across Malta and Gozo for hotels which included Coastline and Mellieha Bay Hotel as well as for private events and other functions.

In February we took a few days to visit Valencia where we provided a close up performance during a private event and after continued on to Benidorm where we were planning to spend the summer season performing, plans that eventually went astray later on during the year due to other commitments.

Started working on new acts and new illusions for our show.

Contracted Steve Saunders from Magitracks.com to compose custom made original music for acts to set us apart from others who use commercial music for their shows.

April-May 2011

Performed on the Color Magic and Color Fantasy cruise Ships between Oslo and Kiel.

June - October 2011

Began the summer season in Malta with ongoing performances across the islands for private events and hotels including Riviera Hotel and Mellieha Bay Hotel.

In July we took over a dinner show at Razzett L-Antik and transformed it into a popular attraction called the Chamber of Mysteries http://www.chamberofmysteries.com

October 2011

Started weekly slots as resident magician/illusionists during two weekly television programmes, one for children called L-Imqarbin which was shown on Favourite TV and went on till end Of December 2011 with a total of 13 performances and one on NET TV called Sas-Sitta with Spiteri Lucas Entertainment which is still currently going and should include 39 performances till the end of the seasonal programme.

Visited Barcelona to perform some magic and lecture about the use of lose up levitation methods for a group of Spanish magicians.

November 2011

Performed at the Manoel Theatre (Teatru Manoel) during the 'Magical Variety' a show produced by Bleep Entertainment and Teatru Manoel.

After a few months of opening the Chmaber Of Mysteries, we requried a larger performing space and therefore we decided to transform and refurbish the Chamber and commenced works on the refurbishment project.

Began weekly appearances as resident illusionists at the Buskett Roadhouse in a cabaret show called Spectaculesqe

December 2011

Started filming on various projects as well as performed in various hotels and venues across Malta and during various staff functions.

Almost completed works on the Chamber Of Mysteries, now with a fully refurbished chamber, better seating and a larger performing area whilst maintaining an intimate atmosphere.

The last performance for 2011 was at The Grand Hotel in Gozo on New Year's Eve, where guests that attended the great gala dinner were offered a variety of illusions, magic and fun.

So as one can see, we had a great year packed with magic and illusion for all which consisted of various close up, parlour, television and stage performances across Malta and Gozo as well as in Spain, Germany and Norway.

2012 is now here and we are involved in many projects and shows and performances on television, in hotels at the Chamber Of Mysteries and other venues.

Works at the Chamber of Mysteries are almost completed, we just need to set the lights and put back the props. We have now a larger performing area and can include some items that couldn't have been included earlier on. Also during the works we have discovered more items that we have decided to put into the show. The Chamber re opens for all on the 16th Of January 2012 with the first three shows sold out! On television our year starts off with an interesting program which airs today on NET TV on the program Quadro. This program will bring the audience at home information abou the history of Magic in Malta with some rare footage of past magicians as well as footage from the present magicians and some unique footage taken especially for this program. Parts of the Magical Variety which was filmed last November will also be aired.

We continue to appear on the weekly program Sas-Sitta on Net TV every Saturday afternoon where each week we present a different illusion or magic act for audiences at home.

Through out the year we have other guest appearances on television, on different stations so look out for us!

We should continue appearing at Buskett Soadhouse during the Spectaculesque cabaret show.

We will continue appearing in a few hotels hotels across Malta, our main hotel being Mellieha Bay Hotel due to the excellent stage and backstage facilities offered there which is ideal for our show.

In the pipeline we have many other projects including some new illusions and preparing some new acts plus giving twists to older acts we have in order to update them for 2012.

Spectaculesque kicks off today Friday 25th November 2011 at the Buskett Roadhouse and will go on every Friday. This is no ordinary low budget cabaret show and every detail has been taken care of to provide you with the best cabaret show in town!

The evening commences with Sergio's Trio, the resident live band, who will play a series of tunes and songs ideal for during dinner. The delicious, mouth watering buffet, will be served before the show, where you will be offered a choice of dishes that should send your taste buds to heaven and back!!!

After the meal the band fades out, the lights are dimmed and the highlight of the night takes off with the great show featuring some of Malta's best talent. The Chamber of Mysteries A Brand New Show In Malta

The Chamber of Mysteries has only been discovered recently and is set on the outskirts of Qormi, in Malta, the most mysterious and magical island in the world. It has been a hidden secret for centuries but it has now been revealed that in the chamber, many years ago, magicians gathered and held their secretive magical meetings. In the chamber they would share their conjuring skills and magical secrets with one another. During the medieval times, the magicians were scared of the dreadful tortures of the inquisition and ceased to meet on a regular basis. Since the chamber held many secrets and mysteries, it was sealed off completely and its existence was hushed up. No one dare mention the secret Chamber Of Mysteries. When the last of the magicians that met in the chamber eventually died, the chamber and its whereabouts died with him and the secrets that lay within were lost in time.

In recent decades, the sealed entrance to the chamber was discovered and opened and in the chamber there lay in centuries of dust, many strange, magical and mystical items of delight, bewilderment and mayhem. For decades, several were those who attempted to figure out the workings of the items found within the chamber and many were those who tired to steal the items, but all were unsuccessful. Then just when everyone began to give up on trying to understand the workings of the items discovered, the unimaginable happened. Two magicians entered the dark and eery chamber and they were the ones chosen by the chamber to unlock the mysteries of the items within its walls and the real magical secrets of the chamber itself were finally revealed to them.

Dear Oslo and especially my Norwegian friends,

For those of whom I may have met and for those of whom who may have seen me perform my little acts of magic during my various travels in Oslo Norway or aboard the Norwegian Color Line Cruise ships Fantasy and Magic and who were unfortunate enough to have been involved directly or indirectly with the sad events that have echoed through the parts of Oslo in the past 24hours, I wish to share my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those whose life was taken and a quick full recovery for those wounded.

The thorn that pierced the heart of such a lovely place will not soon be forgotten. MY heart is with you and this message I share with deepest sympathy.

On his return Brian has also performed for the launching of a new local product, Cisk Chill Larger by Farsons and has also performed for a French Estate Agents' private event held a few days ago at the Radisson in Malta.

Success in Cartoonland

On the 2nd and 3rd October, Brian Role' together with Lourdes C Palmer and a cast of 25 other performers, transformed Malta's national theatre, Teatru Manoel into a world of exciting fun for all the family during their performance in 'Magic In Cartoonland'.

The audience were treated to a unique show that featured lavish sets artistically created by Marco Bartolo, colorful costumes throughout the entire show, a magic fairy called Wonderbell who took the audience on a magical journey, played by talented actress Michelle Bugeja Zerafa and amazing grand scale illusions, some of which are rarely seen in Malta. Dance routines skilfully choreographed by Alison White and performed by the Alison White Dancers (Valerie, Shannon, Kim and Alexandra) joined the scenes seamlessly. A young Brian played by the young talented singer and dancer Owen Aguis opened the storyline for show.

Surprises galore were in store for all those present: during the first half a dozen and a half penguins (actually dancers in superb penguin costumes) together with the Snow Queen appeared in Antartica, a young girl was picked from the audience and flew on a flying carpet in the secret Arabian cave of wonders, two more lucky kids were selected to enter Cartoonland and experience more magic from close quarters at the school of wizards and witches. The second half invited further participation as a young child and a grown up were zapped into Cartoonland and on the pirate boat their strengths were magically exchanged, another lucky kid experienced magic in a different way when a magic TV transformed the kid down to the size of 5 inches at the chocolate factory. The kid then completely vanished and was sent back to reality into actual size. Further surprises included the magical appearances of full size popular cartoon characters that popped out of thin air at the magic castle and that gave a once in a lifetime performance for all those present. The show finished off in grand style with all the performers running through the audience down the isle and onto stage. If this wasn't enough, a bigger surprise awaited outside the theatre. The audience were surprised to see the whole cast including the animation team of BLEEP KIDS distributing a small gift to all the children present.

The illusions presented included almost all forms of floating objects and levitations as well as other popular illusions such as the Wakeling Sawing in Half and Jim Steinmeyer's Girl in a Puzzle amongst many others.

Reactions and comments from all those present excited the cast, the producers and direction and it was obvious that this was a memorable occasion for everyone.

The show production was a collaboration between Teatru Manoel and BLEEP (Kids) Entertainment Services Malta and was skilfully directed by Alan Fenech. Backstage crew consisted of Stage Manager: Charles Camilleri, Stage Hands: Glen Mercieca, Clint Camilleri, Aaron Demanuele, Mario, Set Manager: Marco Bartolo, Lights: Marvic, Sound: Ivan Testa Backstage Assistant: Ernest Buckley and Costume Mistress: Vivien Bickley Palmer.

Brian Role' and Lourdes C Palmer will for the first time this year participate in the Medieval Mdina Pagentry & Flower Festival to be held in the Noble city of Mdina between the 9th and 11th of April 2010 with a Medieval themed magic & illusion show with spectacular and dangerous illusions. They will perform their Medieval themed show several times throughout the 10th and 11th of April 2010 in the Mdina main square as well as on the bastions.

The festival is something not to be missed and boasts a variety of medieval events and beautiful flower arrangements to see. One is invited to experience life in the middle ages with a variety of tournaments, birds of prey, medieval football competitions, human chess challenges, medieval knights, colourful characters in authentic costumes and traditional medieval food. Entrance to the festival is free.

Halloween, capturing the imagination

As one of its innovative events the Manoel Theatre added a spectacular and scary illusion show followed by a ghost walk and a gothic rock concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre with the bands Fire, Sepia and Nomadson.

The illusion show gave a unique chance to the public to see the talents of two Maltese illusionists' combined efforts. Brian Rolé, together with his partner Lola, and Vanni and Mary Anne Pulé gave an unforgettable performance of the art of illusion in six scenes expressing archetypal fears and macabre thrills.

Ghosts appeared and flew into the air, vampires were mutilated, decapitated and squashed into unbelievable proportions and witches were impaled. Brian Rolé and Lola presented a tribute to the great Houdini who died on Halloween night and who was fascinated by mediums and spirits. This included a rarely seen escape from a straitjacket that used to restrain violent madmen in the past. Another of their scenes featured a magical rendition of The Phantom of the Opera. Vanni and Mary Anne Pulé re-enacted various psychic manifestations like mind over matter, telepathy and premonition.

The show was introduced by actor Michael Tabone as Grand Master De Vilhena and was enhanced by the choreography of Alison White.

Brian Role' And Lola Palmer give a tribute to Harry Houdini, who died on the 31st October 1926 exactly 83 years ago, by performing his famous Metamorphosis Trunk .

Vanni Pule' a 1920's Vampire discovers his mid twentieth counterpart Brian Role' as they both struggle for power. Vanni makes 6 foot Brian just a few inches tall using an evil compression device.

Brian Role' gets his own back on Vanni Pule' and decapitates Vanni.

Both Brian and Vanni decide to join as one in their final act of pursue of power and make ghostly figures appear from thin air then translocate themselves.

Thunderous applause during the final curtain call when Brian Role', Vanni Pule', Lola Palmer, Mary Anne Pule' and the Alison White Dancers take their final bow.

This year Brian Role` and Lola Palmer are preparing something extra special for their magical participation during Notte Bianca's now popular celebrations in Malta which is bound to leave audiences mystified, entertained and pleased with their performance.

Their act 'Magic Of The Night' will be shown a number of times during the spectacular show 'Magic After Dark' to be put on by the Malta Magician's Society, IBM Ring 202 held at the City Theatre in Valletta on the 3rd of October 2009. Apart from the grand illusion and magical effects people coming to the theatre to come and see the shows held by magician members of the society will also have the opportunity to come and see a very special act brought in from Italy especially for the event.

Hundreds of people are expected to come and view the show and everyone is already anticipating with great excitement this annual event.

This is Brian Role` and Lola Palmer's third consecutive time that they will be participating during Notte Bianca since 2007. In 2007 they introduced their Notte Bianca show 'Magic Of the Night' which went down extremely well with the Maltese public.

Brian Role' and Lola Palmer shall appear on Euro Showbox, a new programme based on the Eurovision song contest. Brian and Lola have become the programme's resident Illusionists and will provide grand scale illusion, each week during the 10 week schedule.

The first programme will be aired tonight (Saturday 8th November 2008) and every Saturday night after, from 9:15pm onwards for the next 10 weeks.

This is a family based illusion and magic show presented by The Palmers Magic and is ideal for staged events. Illusions and magic combined will be presented to the audience. These kind of shows are ideal for outdoor events, theatre, dinner shows and venues that accommodate a stage. A duration of between 10mins- 30mins is possible and we can cater for audiences as little as 50 or as large as 10,000. The client may choose the illusions for specific requests (Subject to conditions of venue)

CHILDREN'S MAGIC SHOW

(Children's Parties Magic Show Service Offered In Malta Only)

This show is a 45min show consisting of many magical effects ideal for children from ages 5 till 14. Not the normal magic show but a show packed with fun and magic. The party child gets all the attention during the magic show yet all the children participate in one way or the other. Young volunteers are selected throughout the show to assist with the magic. In fact there is a great deal of participation during the show. The main magician providing this show is Brian Role' but in cases where Brian will not be available for the requested date, we can recommend another magician for your consideration.

Show Details

We supply a professional sound system for during the show
45mins of non stop fun and magic where all the children participate
Some 'lucky' children are selected to personally assist the magician
The party child is selected to assist the magician several times
The Party child receives a Free Gift
Assisting children get a reward for helping directly
The party child assists the magician with the grand finale illusion

Additional options subject to availability

Animator in costume to provide party games
Animator in a character costume such as 'Spiderman', Mickey Mouse, Mini Mouse as a special attraction
